Samson Mowhe ironically reacted to the date of the fork of Muir Glacier on the Ethereum
Blockstream maximalist and top manager at Blockstream Samson Moe tweeted ironically at the upcoming Muir Glacier update on the Ethereum network.
The fork is scheduled for the first day of 2020. The developers announced that the update will take place at block 9,200,000. ETH holders should not do anything unless the exchange or the cryptocurrency wallet administration requests it.
According to Samson Mow, the date was chosen poorly. The crypto community will celebrate the beginning of the new year on January 1, so activity will be extremely low, if not zero at all.
Ethereum software updates will force node operators and crypto exchanges to postpone New Year’s Eve to provide fork support. Not excluded technical problems in case of emergency.
Another factor that proves that the date was chosen poorly was the fact that only 63.2% of the nodes (nodes) in the ethereum network are ready for updating. This is evidenced by the data service Ethernodes.
The Ethereum network also faced the problem of the outflow of miners. The fall in the value of the largest altcoin forces miners to abandon ETH mining. Now the ether is trading at a nine-month low, its rate is kept at $ 132.
